Deep State Sabotaging Stephen Miller Enforcement Effort, Easy Target Ignored

Stephen Miller is a smart guy, however, there is a stereotype of the genius with big ideas missing the simple things, like putting on socks.  Miller has a plan to help increase the deportations of the illegal aliens in the United States smuggling in their children.  Sadly though, everyone is missing the simple solution, these children don’t qualify for the so-called protections under the William Wilberforce Victims of Trafficking Act, as amended.  Too clever by half, Miller’s efforts will be sabotaged by the Kritarchy, and nothing will get done.  And his efforts are being sabotaged by the Deep State as we speak.

The plan has not been announced publicly. It was developed by Stephen Miller, President Trump’s top immigration adviser, who has long argued that HHS’s Office of Refugee Resettlement is being exploited by parents who hire smugglers to bring their children into the United States illegally. The agency manages shelters that care for underage migrants who cross the border without a parent and tries to identify sponsors — typically family members — eligible to take custody of the minors.

Now, the plan is fine, the illegal aliens paying smugglers to bring their children to the United States are committing a crime and are deportable.  Now the President of the United States cannot have his ability to see that the laws of the United States are faithfully executed restricted in any way, as he is exercising his constitutional authority.  And the Democrats were too clever by half.  The language only restricts sharing information that may result in removal, it does not mention criminal investigation.

According to those provisions, no federal funds “may be used by the Secretary of Homeland Security to place in detention, remove, refer for a decision whether to initiate removal proceedings, or initiate removal proceedings against a sponsor, potential sponsor, or member of a household of a sponsor or potential sponsor of an unaccompanied alien child.”

President Trump should have vetoed this legislation, for this and numerous other reasons, including the Liberian Amnesty.  However, nothing in that language that prohibits arresting a “sponsor,” i.e. illegal alien, for a violation of Title 8 United States Code Section 1324, Bringing In or Harboring Certain Aliens.   Moreover, most information about these “sponsors” is obtained by the Border Patrol or ICE at the time of arrest, so the only real question is why doesn’t ICE just go out and arrest these illegal aliens right away?  This is just another example of Miller being too smart.  There is a simpler solution.

But the simplest solution is that none of these children who have a familial sponsor, is, by definition, not a “victim” of trafficking, but an alien being illegally smuggled into the United States.  In the summer, Ken the Knife announced that U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) would redefine these fake victims as just the illegal aliens they are.  [2 Years Into Trump Administration, One Loophole (“Unaccompanied Minors”) Being Closed, by Federale, VDare, July 1, 2019]  Has no one informed Miller, or has this policy not been implemented?  One would think Miller would know.  And here lies the solution, implement this policy and the problem is solved.  No need to risk another two years of litigation before the Kriarchy.  An even more simple solution is to make a public announcement that no “sponsor” could be an illegal alien.

Worse though is the sabotage by the Deep State at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Though senior officials at the Department of Health and Human Services rejected the attempt, they agreed to allow Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to collect fingerprints and other biometric information from adults seeking to claim migrant children at government shelters. If those adults are deemed ineligible to take custody of children, ICE could then use their information to target them for arrest and deportation…

Mark Weber, a spokesman for HHS, which oversees ORR, said in a written response that no ICE personnel are stationed at the agency and that there are “no plans for ICE personnel to be placed at HHS…”

As part of the plan, a senior official at ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations unit, Caleb Vitello, was supposed to be temporarily assigned to work inside ORR. But senior HHS officials rejected that part of the plan during a meeting Thursday, two administration officials said. White House officials have privately denounced HHS staff as having “sabotaged” attempts at implementing information-sharing agreements…

HHS Secretary Alex Azar was not informed of Miller’s effort to place an ICE official at his agency, two officials said.

Azar has worked to keep his agency out of the maelstrom of immigration politics after the “zero tolerance” episode, which separated at least 2,700 children from their parents or other adult relatives until Trump was forced to reverse course.

So, just how does any official at HHS “reject” the orders of the President?  Clearly, Secretary Azar is behind this sabotage, as no subordinate of his would reject orders from the White House.  But it also shows how arrogant the Deep State has become, they can just reject out of hand the President with no consequences.

More telling though is while this is important, it was certainly small ball compared to the most recent development in illegal immigration, New York and New Jersey issuing driver’s licenses to illegal aliens.

Federal immigration and border officials have been blocked from New York’s DMV database, a move that keeps them from accessing data that can be used to help determine whether a vehicle owner has a criminal history or a warrant for their arrest.

New York’s Green Light Law took effect Saturday, allowing those without legal immigration status to apply for driver’s licenses in New York.

But the law also included a provision prohibiting state DMV officials from providing any of its data to entities that enforce immigration law unless a judge orders them to, leading the state to cut off database access to at least three federal agencies last week.

Among them were U.S. Customs and Border Protection, or CBP — which patrols the U.S.-Canada border in New York — and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE.

Federal officials appeared caught off guard by the change last week, which was laid out in the state law approved in June.

Why hasn’t Miller developed a plan for States issuing identification to illegal aliens, aiding them in living in the United States illegally in violation, again, of Title 8 USC Section 1324?  Why did not Miller develop a plan with ICE to deploy agents to New York and New Jersey DMVs to make arrests of illegal aliens and of DMV officials for aiding illegal aliens?  Again, Miller missed the easy action for designing a clever plan to make arrests in a smaller pool of illegal aliens.  Instead, Miller accepted the insubordination of the Deep State who would not even implement his plan as designed.  In the end we get few arrests, when we could have had mass arrests and fear driven deep into the hearts of all illegal aliens.
