The Portland School District, following the lead of the Sanctuary City of Portland, and their lawless judges, has decided to require its employees to aid illegal aliens when U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) comes calling. (h/t reader Sonny G.) Prior to this development, Portland was a sanctuary city, then it decided that the police will not respond to attacks on ICE employees. The most egregess offence relating to immigration enforcement though was the Portland judge who aided an illegal alien to escape. Prosecute Mexican Kritarch Monica Herranz!, by Federale, VDare, June 12, 2017] However, Sleepy Jeff Sessions allowed Obama holdover Billy Williams, United States Attorney for the District of Oregon to ignore Judge Herranz to get away with her crime of aiding illegal aliens, a violation of Title 8 United States Code, Section 1324, Bringing In and Harboring Certain Aliens. Had Sleepy Jeff replaced Williams or ordered Williams to perform his duty of prosecuting criminals like Herranz, the latest act of criminality in defiance of immigration laws may not have occurred.
What to do if you’re a teacher in Portland Public Schools, you suspect that one or more of your students are “undocumented,” and you see federal I.C.E. agents around the school?
Well, thanks to this handy guide from the school district, you are now obligated to help the students evade the I.C.E. agents.
The guide, labeled “Responding to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE),” instructs teachers to not bring the students that the agents are asking for, do not tell the ICE agents anything, contact the families of the students, do not comply with warrants, bring the students into the building to provide them with a hideout spot, contact principals and other administrators, and contact the pro illegal alien non profits “to assist families who may be reluctant to pick up children.”

Presumably, the above document was created or at least vetted by the Portland Public Schools counsel’s office, presumably staffed by attorneys who passed the Oregon Bar Exam, though one may doubt that given the open criminal activity advocated in the memorandum to employees.
Here is the relevant actions that public officials will be required to do in violation of numerous Federal statutes, including the above 1324 statute, but including 18 USC 327, Conspiracy, 18 USC 2, Aiding and Abetting, 18 USC 1505 Obstruction of Proceedings, 18 USC 1349, Attempt and Conspiracy, and 18 USC 1510, Obstruction of a Criminal Investigation.
If ICE agents come into the school:
1. Ask for identification. Make a copy of the ID.2. Ask the ICE agents to wait in an office or other space away from students.3. Call for the assistance of a building administrator.4. Call 503-916-6622 to inform District office of the presence of ICE at your building. If the ICE agent is looking for a particular student, contact the parents immediately to let them know what is happening at the school.5. DO NOT PROVIDE THE AGENTS WITH ANY INFORMATION. 6. DO NOT PRODUCE THE STUDENT(S) THEY ARE ASKING ABOUT.7. If the ICE agent presents a warrant, take a photo of it and let the agent know that you have no authority to assist in this matter and direct them to contact the General Counsel’s office at 503-916-6622.
Aside from aiding illegal aliens to evade arrest, conspiring to the same, and obstruction, there is no basis to require employees to not provide information. Any person may provide any information to Federal law enforcement and State and local governments are specifically prohibited from preventing employees from providing information. More nonsense is trying to photocopy an agent’s credentials. That is not going to happen. This whole scheme will open up individual employees to severe legal jeopardy.
Now, sadly, this is mostly political posturing, as Lady DACA has continued the restriction on ICE raiding schools where there are illegal aliens. But what the Department of Justice should do is immediately indict and arrest the authors of this memorandum for conspiracy to obstruct Federal agents. This will require the new Attorney General William Barr to order Billy Williams to do his job. President Trump should at least fire Williams. Remember, personnel is policy!

I can not think of Portland (Forest Grove) without thinking of Cinthya Garcia Cisneros. The 18 year old DACA dreamer who ran over and killed two girls playing in a leaf pile, learned what she did, then went out for some ice cream and shopping. She was in the vehicle the next day when they ran it through a car wash to destroy trace evidence.
The jury did their job, convicting her on two counts of felony hit and run but the Judge, Richard Knapp, gave her a slap on the wrist and leniency to protect her DACA status. Then an immigration judge (one of a possible two females appointed in that district) let her walk. No deportation. Since then, an Oregon appellate court threw out the first conviction altogether.
I remember following that case. Every day I would go to Oregon Live and read the story. The comments were gut wrenching People blaming the father because he stepped back inside the house to grab his camera wanting to capture this family moment. The twisted logic. The warped excuses. The virtue signaling.
Now I see them here in Arizona. Tens of thousands of new homes are still being built around here and they are reasonably priced for those living on the West coast. I see their license plates every day. California. Oregon. Washington. The writing is on the wall. The liberal fog is closing in. Glad my yard only has date palms.
